  1.     Just What Is The .PRV File?                         FILE: AP.HLP 
  2.                                                                             
  3.     The PRV file is an ASCII collection of values that is used to give 
  4.     you a  quick indicator of how a current period compares to a 
  5.     previous.  If this  file is not available, DBK does not print the 
  6.     comparitive values.         
  7.                                                                             
  8.     At the end of each summary period, DBK will ask if you want the .PRV 
  9.     file to be written.  If you answer Yes, certain summary totals will 
  10.     be stored  in a .PRV file that will then be read for each subsequent 
  11.     period summary. These .PRV values will be printed underneath the 
  12.     totals for the current   period so the variance can be easily 
  13.     obtained.  With this, you should know immediately whether or not 
  14.     your game is going in the right direction.

  16.     This type of information is also important if you are trying to 
  17.     determine the efficiency of a changed swing, new grip, stance, club 
  18.     etc.            
  19.                                                                             
  20.     Any period summary can be used for the .PRV values.  You could for 
  21.     example combine all previous months .GLF (result) files to represent 
  22.     the entire   season.  Then, your current report would reflect 
  23.     current vs. year-to-date. 
  24.                                                                            
  25.     If you just keep season stats, rather than month to month, the .PRV 
  26.     file could be the previous seasons performance.
